Why Adoption?

while maris & i were only engaged we talked about our dreams of adopting one day. our best friends in the world were adopting at that time, and it was amazing to walk with them through their journey. their story has been a huge inspiration in us deciding to adopt.

since we’ve been married adoption has been at the front of our hearts & minds. there is such a huge need for people to step up and offer these children a chance at life & a future. we feel like God has called us to do just that. before even trying to have biological children we have decided to adopt. it’s unconventional & probably doesn’t make sense to alot of people, and we’re ok with that. we want our story to be a story of inspiration just like my friends story was for us. we want people to see that adoption is needed. we want people to see that they are needed. we want people to know that you don’t always have to go about it the conventional way.

there are numerous opinions, arguments, & blogs about the pros & cons for adoption. there are people for adoption & people against it. i appreciate all of your opinions, but we will not be arguing or defending why we are adopting on this blog. this blog is not a forum to argue those opinions. this blog is about august & our story of bringing him into our lives.
